One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Just Rock tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Artura that came steaming ahead. When the startcar left the field Kvarngärdets Relay Star started to galop and lost 20 m. Artura was looking sharp this day and continued in the lead. A bird flew just in front of Marcellus who started to galop and lost 10 m. Just Rock looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Kvarngärdets Relay Star couldn't come out from behind the leader, Artura.
