One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Beniamino tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Grand Veks Cherry that came steaming ahead.

Maverick took the lead after 1000m. Beniamino didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.




Maverick was still in the lead after 1500m.



With only a little left of the race Melissa galoped for 30 m. Maverick kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Grand Veks Cherry galoped for 60m and was disqualified.




No-one could catch Maverick today who won before Beniamino and Melbourne Superior.
