The sky was free of clouds and the sun was shining at Åby this day.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Stretching Moonlight could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start. Bo Falsig wanted a little to much in the start and Angel Eyes galoped for 30 m.




There were no mayor changes in the field at the 500m mark. A bird flew just in front of Backstabbing Nova who started to galop and lost 50 m.




Stretching Moonlight was in great shape so far and looked happy in the lead. Funky Wish suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 30 m.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one Stretching Moonlight followed by Backstabbing Nova and Funky Wish. Lane two Hedgehog followed by Rose De Luxe and Quick As Fagervik.




Stretching Moonlight didn't even look tired after 2000m and sat safely in the lead.



Backstabbing Nova suddenly found some strength when the driver removed the earpads and sprinted to the lead.

The spectators cheered much on the homestretch and probably caused Heavenly Tropic galop. Heavenly Tropic lost 20 m.




Backstabbing Nova kept the speed the whole finish and won before Stretching Moonlight and Hedgehog.
