One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Smiling Sunset tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Völler that came steaming ahead. When the startcar left the field Smiling Sunset started to galop and lost 50 m. The field stabalized after the bend and the speed was reduced. A bird flew just in front of Smiling Sunset who started to galop and lost 40 m. Dream Happy sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead. Stretching Temptress saw a chanche when the tempo dropped and could easilytake the lead. Stretching Temptress sat safely in the lead after 2000m. Dream Happy suddenly found some strength when the driver removed the earpads and sprinted to the lead. No Way Jose never caught up with Dream Happy who won. Stretching Temptress came third. Results
