One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Opposing Candy could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




This is the positions after 500m. Singing Top, Beetle Peaks, Van Grunsven, Opposing Candy, Dusty Hollywood, Shelby Rebel, Silly Whirlwind, Opstille. Opstille started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.




Van Grunsven sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead.




Nothing seemed to be able to stop Van Grunsven today. It continued in the lead.




Silly Whirlwind suddenly took over the lead.



Silly Whirlwind sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.






Van Grunsven never caught up with Silly Whirlwind who won. Opposing Candy came third.
