The weather had been good all week and Åby was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Adventurous Puma was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. Vlucht Afwezig was to eager when the car accellerated, galopped and was disqualified.

The field stabalized after the bend and the speed was reduced.

Max Hamilton sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead. Adventurous Puma suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 40 m.

Max Hamilton was still in the lead after 1500m. Nielsen galloped for 60m and was disqualified.

Blasting Beast galloped way to long and was disqualified. Max Hamilton sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.

License To Enter won the race after a spectacular finish.
