One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Ivory Maid tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Opinion Publique that came steaming ahead. When the startcar left the field Narcissique started to galop and lost 30 m.

Cheerful Technology quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. Nettunio Vox was disturbed and galoped 20 m.

Carlos Gammeldansk looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Ivory Maid couldn't come out from behind the leader, Cheerful Technology.

Opinion Publique looked to be in good shape this day and took the lead after 1500m. Useless Retaliation started to gallop after 1500m and Jack Moiseyev had to struggle to get it back in trotting.

Chisholms Second Law speeded up in the last bend and was first on the homestretch.

Narcissique won the race after a spectacular finish.
