The weather had been good all week and Kalmar was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Comète found a gap and took the lead. Pezzo Di Paradiso followed before Take Me To The City.

Comète was looking sharp this day and continued in the lead.

Take Me To The City looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Sudden Viper couldn't come out from behind the leader, Comète.

Standings after 1500m . Lane one Comète followed by Sudden Viper and Sharayah. Lane two Pezzo Di Paradiso followed by Take Me To The City and Sowing Rhapsody.

Comète was disturbed and galopped for 50 m. Pezzo Di Paradiso litterally flew through the last bend and was first on the homestretch.

Comète won the race after a spectacular finish.
