The weather had been good all week and Kaustinen was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Lamino could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start. When the startcar left the field Unknown started to galop and lost 40 m.

Alhambra Royale saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. Unknown showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping.

Alhambra Royale was in great shape so far and looked happy in the lead. Unknown suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 20 m.

Just Sound sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
