One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Spontané was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. Pretty Meadow quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. Sudden Lilac looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Spontané couldn't come out from behind the leader, Pretty Meadow. Nothing seemed to be able to stop Pretty Meadow today. It continued in the lead. Spontané started to gallop after 1500m and Jennifer Tillman had to struggle to get it back in trotting. Spontané was first on the homestretch followed by Pretty Meadow and Sudden Lilac. Pretty Meadow sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy. Results
