One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

La Donna sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead.

This is the positions after 500m. King Mcfee, Astato Vox, Kentish Town, Il Bountiful Ces, Berras First Law, Shooting Scope, Ultimate Knight, Rational Striker. Breaking Beauty started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

King Mcfee looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Il Bountiful Ces couldn't come out from behind the leader, Kentish Town. driver couldn't keep La Donna to trotting so they were disqualified.
