The sky was free of clouds and the sun was shining at Hankasalmi this day.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Quaker Rebel tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Solitaire that came steaming ahead. Volcanic Bomb was to tense at the start and galloped for 50 m. Silver Sparrow was to tense at the start and galloped for 40 m.

Adorabile Vittoria saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead.

Gold Passion sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead.

Dead Thrasher was disturbed and galopped for 40 m. With only a little left of the race Wandering Midnight galoped for 30 m. Gold Passion sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead.

Mauri Jaara tried a little too much on the homestretch and Solitaire started to galopp and lost 50 m. The spectators cheered much on the homestretch and probably caused Wandering Midnight galop. Wandering Midnight lost 30 m.

Gold Passion didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
