One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Ivory Sapphire could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.
Plamen quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. Llosgfynydd started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.
Prince Coverage sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead. Ivory Sapphire galoped after 1000m and lost 10 m.
Ivory Sapphire was disturbed and galopped for 10 m. With only a little left of the race Prince Coverage galoped for 20 m. Prince Coverage kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.
