One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Comfortable Thinking sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead. Comfortable Sergeant was to tense at the start and galloped for 10 m.




Sowing Pie quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m.




Sowing Pie clinged on to the lead after a 1000m. Kruisvuur galoped after 1000m and lost 30 m.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one Sowing Pie followed by Jumping Blizzard and Comfortable Sergeant. Lane two Comfortable Thinking followed by Kruisvuur and Grand Plan.



Sowing Pie kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.






Comfortable Thinking won the race after a spectacular finish.
