Uses All Gears looked to be in good shape this day and took the lead after 1500m. Something caused a disturbance in the field and Black Wave gallopped for 50 m.

Uses All Gears kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Beauchamp won the race after a spectacular finish.
