It had been raining for several days at Åby but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape. One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Confident Mustache was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. Speedy Sword showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galloping. King Speedy quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. King Speedy was in great shape so far and looked happy in the lead. Thinking Lieutenant galoped after 1000m and lost 30 m. Silver Cocktail accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. Star Champion speeded up in the last bend and was first on the homestretch. Silver Cocktail sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy. Results
