One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Gold Rocket found a gap and took the lead. Mercuri Star followed before Minnesota Viking. Good Looking Force showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galloping. When the startcar left the field Speedy Semla started to galop and lost 40 m.

This is the positions after 500m. What It Takes, Running Devil, Mercuri Star, Bol Hyena, Criminal Cloud, Gold Rocket, Minnesota Viking, Speedy Semla. A bird flew just in front of Minnesota Viking who started to galop and lost 40 m. Good Looking Force galloped way to long and was disqualified.

Bol Hyena looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Running Devil couldn't come out from behind the leader, What It Takes.

Standings after 1500m . Lane one What It Takes followed by Criminal Cloud and Minnesota Viking. Lane two Bol Hyena followed by Mercuri Star and Running Devil.

Criminal Cloud litterally flew through the last bend and was first on the homestretch.

Gold Rocket won the race after a spectacular finish.
