One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Étonnement Jeune found a gap and took the lead. Madame Bovary followed before Walking Jewel. Étonnement Jeune was in fine shape and held the lead. Walking Jewel showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping. The leader got disturbed by something and Madame Bovary took the lead rather easily. Standings after 1500m . Lane one Madame Bovary followed by Jeannine and Walking Jewel. Lane two Étonnement Jeune followed by Whatever Flower and . Madame Bovary started to gallop after 1500m and Antti Teivainen had to struggle to get it back in trotting. Madame Bovary were still in the lead when they started the sprint for the finish-line.
