It had been raining for several days at Karlshamn but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Sleeping Gal could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start. Sleeping Gal was to tense at the start and galloped for 10 m.

This is the positions after 500m. Electric Sugar, Sinnerman, Go Agogo, Quilly Du Marais, Sleeping Gal, Platinum Beard, Meoth, Minstrel Boy.

Meoth looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Quilly Du Marais couldn't come out from behind the leader, Electric Sugar.

Standings after 1500m . Lane one Electric Sugar followed by Quilly Du Marais and Go Agogo. Lane two Meoth followed by Platinum Beard and Minstrel Boy.

Sinnerman suddenly found some strength when the driver removed the earpads and sprinted to the lead.

Quilly Du Marais sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
