The weather had been good all week and Åby was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Berwald Hof was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. When the startcar left the field Gorgeous Stardust started to galop and lost 30 m.




This is the positions after 500m. Moving Platinum, Punching Steel, Zoot Suit, Berwald Hof, Fredericia, Dreaming Puma, Dominant Folder, Gorgeous Stardust. Punching Steel was disturbed and galoped 10 m.




No one seem keen on putting pressure on the leader so he could keep his own tempo.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one Moving Platinum followed by Berwald Hof and Zoot Suit. Lane two Punching Steel followed by Dreaming Puma and Dominant Folder. Zoot Suit galloped for 20 m. Something caused a disturbance in the field and Fredericia gallopped for 30 m.



With only a little left of the race Berwald Hof galoped for 30 m. Punching Steel suddenly found some strength when the driver removed the earpads and sprinted to the lead.

Zoot Suit was disturbed and galopped for 20 m.




Punching Steel kept the speed the whole finish and won before Moving Platinum and Dreaming Puma.
