One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Machicoulis could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




There were no mayor changes in the field at the 500m mark.




The leader got disturbed by something and Dreaming Runner took the lead rather easily.




Dreaming Runner was still in the lead after 1500m.



Machicoulis suddenly found some strength when the driver removed the earpads and sprinted to the lead.






Machicoulis didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
