The sky was free of clouds and the sun was shining at Lapua this day.
One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Poincon Express could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start. Unknown was to tense at the start and galloped for 40 m.
The field stabalized after the bend and the speed was reduced.
No one seem keen on putting pressure on the leader so he could keep his own tempo. Unknown galoped after 1000m and lost 10 m.
Nothing seemed to be able to stop
Poincon Express today. It continued in the lead.
Whispering
Whirlwind started to gallop after 1500m and Aki Antti-Roiko had to struggle to get it back in trotting.
With only a little left of the race
Whispering
Whirlwind galoped for 10 m.
Poincon Express kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.
Aki Antti-Roiko tried a little too much on the homestretch and
Whispering
Whirlwind started to galopp and lost 50 m.
Poincon Express didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
