The weather had been good all week and Gävle was in good shape. One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Copacabana Hoof was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. Smiling Moon quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. Starshine Star took the lead after 1000m. Smiling Wave didn't have a good time being caught on the outside. Star Mountain galloped for 60m and was disqualified. Evergreen Eden saw a chanche when the tempo dropped and could easilytake the lead. With only a little left of the race Evergreen Eden galoped for 50 m. Smiling Wave suddenly found some strength when the driver removed the earpads and sprinted to the lead. Copacabana Hoof won the race after a spectacular finish. Results
